What's Happening at the Senior Centers in February 2012
The County's three center facilities are places where senior adults can meet, receive services, and participate in activities that will affirm their dignity and self worth. Within this atmosphere, the centers create opportunities for senior adults to apply their wisdom, insight, and exercise their skills.
Special Events In February
Thursday, February 2 - 11:00 a.m. - TRIP - We will be going shopping at Wal-mart in Elizabeth City. We will be having lunch at the Dragon Buffet. Cost is $3.00 Transportation fee and money for lunch.
Tuesday, February 14 - 11:00 a.m. - Joe Higgs will be here to give a presentation on the Native American Flute. This is a great time to come out and join others in experiencing something new and beautiful! Thursday, February 16 - 5:00 p.m. - The Alzheimer's Support Group will have their monthly meeting here at the Currituck Senior Center. For further information you may contact the Currituck Senior Center at 252-232-3505. Tuesday, February 21 - 12:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. - The Currituck Senior Center and Albemarle Commission Area Agency on Aging will host a "Scam Jam." Must register by February 14, 2012. Don't be a victim of a scam! Tuesday, February 28 - 8:00 a.m. - TRIP - We will be going to Peppercorn's Restaurant at the beach to play Bingo and breakfast. Tuesday's in February - 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. - Blood Pressure Check - Keeping check of your blood-pressure is very important to your well-being, since Stroke is the silent killer Friday, February 3 - 10:00 a.m. - We will be having a Valentine's Day Tea! We always have a greta time, so please come out and join us! Tuesday, February 7 - 10:3015 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. - The Currituck Tax Department will be here to list your taxes. Wednesday, February 8 - 1:30 p.m. - Heidi Montalbine will be here to show us how to make a Valentine's Day flower arrangement. The cost for the class is $8.00, but you may bring your own materials instead. Thursday, February 9 - 10:30 a.m. - TRIP - We will be going to lunch at "Margie & Rays." The cost is $3.00 Transportation fee and money for lunch. Tuesday, February 28 - We will be having a Pot-Luck!
