Unified Development Ordinance

The Board of Commissioners approved the rewrite of the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) with an effective date of January 1, 2013. During this test period the county will allow dual use which means, if an applicant comes in they can choose to submit an application under the current or new UDO.

The purpose of the Unified Development Ordinance for Currituck County is to promote health, safety, morals and the general welfare of its citizens.
