Sustainability Plan

Sustainability Means...  Focusing on the environmental, economic, and social characteristics of our community in order to meet the needs of the present without compromising the needs of future generations.

Currituck County's Sustainability Plan includes the following.

• Outlines broad, inclusive, and community responsive sustainability goals to complement Land Use Plan
• Serves as umbrella over all other efforts
• Coordinates all county departments and resources
• Identifies gaps for future initiatives
• Eligible for grant funding

The end results of developing a well defined Sustainability Plan equals savings of money, natural resources or our heritage.
