Senior Center Programs

Education

Seminars are routinely held at the Center. Topics include updates on Medicare, tax and estate planning, recognition of elder abuse, nutrition, computer awareness, and many others. Educational programs are based on expressed interest by the Center's membership.

Health and Wellness

Screenings for blood pressure, hearing, vision, cholesterol, peripheral arterial diseases, skin cancer, PSA, and diabetes are periodically held at the Center. Qualified medical personnel perform these tests. Programs are also offered in strength training, line dancing, low impact aerobics, and walking. The Center also has an exercise room equipped with stationary bikes and treadmills. Transportation is provided once a month for a bowling program.

The Center participates in Senior Games competitions in collaboration with Region R, Division of Aging, which consists of nine adjacent counties. Games include swimming, tennis, golf, bowling, shuffleboard, basketball shooting, badminton, and many other sports.
