Corolla Bike Path Receives Strong Public
Support
Currituck County Planning Director Ben
Woody was pleased with the public support given the Corolla Greenway
proposal during a public meeting on Jan. 22. County staff members
provided information about the proposed multi-use path and fielded
questions and comments from several county residents.
The Corolla Greenway concept is a 1.06 mile path that
would wind through the Corolla community, stretching from Currituck
Heritage Park to a location near the Currituck Banks Coastal Reserve.
Ideally suited for walking, running and cycling, the project would
include a small park at the path's midpoint.
Currituck County will submit an application for a
$500,000 Parks and Recreation Trust Fund Grant in February, Woody said.
The staff will learn the results of this effort in either late spring or
early summer. If received, the grant funding would be matched by the
county through occupancy tax funds.

Handy Homer's Helpful Homeowner Tip

|
"Did you know you need permits to install or
upgrade a heat pump? Be sure to hire a professional.
If the unit, duct work and breakers are not sized
properly, your system won't work correctly and may end up costing you
extra money in the long run."
