NCDOT To Kickoff Transportation Plan Update

Currituck County residents may learn more of the upcoming process intended to update the Comprehensive Transportation Plan during two public meetings with officials from the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT).

NCDOT officials will present information on Monday, October 5, 2009 during the Board of Commissioners meeting. This meeting begins at 7:00 p.m., in the Historic Courthouse.

A second public meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. in the Corolla branch of the Currituck Public Library. The Corolla Library is located at 1123 Ocean Trail, in Corolla.

The Comprehensive Transportation Plan is a document that examines current and anticipated travel demands in and around Currituck County. This plan is updated infrequently, and helps prioritize needed transportation improvements. Public input is very important during this process.
