Community Watch is a crime prevention program which enlists the active participation of citizens in cooperation with law enforcement to reduce crime in their neighborhood and community within the jurisdiction of Currituck County.
It involves neighbors getting to know each other and working together in a program of mutual assistance. Citizens are trained to recognize and report suspicious activity in their neighborhood. They also learn about crime prevention techniques such as home security, Operation Identification, and others.
By cooperating with each other and law enforcement officers, citizens can fight crime in the most effective way: before it happens! To participate in the Sheriff's Community Watch Program, call 252-453-8204.
