The
Currituck County
and Pasquotank County
Centers of North Carolina Cooperative
Extension will be sponsoring a series of Farms In Transition programs. The first session will be held in Pasquotank County on Wednesday, February 10, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The second session will be held in Currituck Countyon Wednesday, February 17,
from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
These programs
are designed to assist families and landowners with decisions concerning the
future of their farms for the next generation.
Andrew Branan, Director of the Farm Transition Network along with
Cooperative Extension Specialist from N. C. State University
will be presenting these programs on various topics including estate planning,
tax and farm transfer issues, and farmland preservation. This is a great opportunity for farm families
to take advantage of this very important information.
The
Pasquotank County
Extension Center
is located at 1209 McPherson
Street in Elizabeth
City, and the Currituck
County Center
is located at 120 Community Way
in Barco, NC
next to Central Elementary School off Shortcut Road.
A sponsored lunch will be provided for each
of the programs, so interested participants should contact either the Pasquotank County
Center, 338-3954 or the Currituck County Center at 232-2262 to pre-register.
At the conclusion of the Currituck Program,
anyone interested in meeting with the speakers for more specific information
should contact the Currituck
Center to schedule a
time.
