Voter RegistrationTo be eligible to vote, you must:
DEADLINES TO REGISTER TO VOTE The deadline to register to vote in North Carolina and Currituck County is 25 days before the day of the election. Forms must be received in the Elections office or postmarked by the deadline to be accepted. Agency and DMV registration transactions that are completed by the deadline are also valid. Each voter will be sent a voter card showing their assigned precinct. Forms may be obtained at these locations, completed, and mailed to the Board of Elections office. You may register at the Department of Motor Vehicles office when conducting official DMV business, or at any state agency when applying for or receiving benefits. Currituck County has a permanent and continuous registration. If you move, change your name, or desire to change your party affiliation, you must make these changes no later than 25 days before an election.
