Mission

It shall be the mission of the Currituck County Sheriff’s Office to protect and serve the citizens of Currituck County with fairness, compassion, and respect. The citizens of Currituck County are the most important judges of our performance and judgment occurs “at the moment of truth” when a service is provided. We pledge to serve the citizens with honor and treat them with dignity.

Quality and excellence in work will be held in the highest regard. We recognize the importance of each individual’s role in the organization and encourage the flow of information and the exchange of ideas. Through education, training, and planning for the future, we will maintain highly capable guardians of the community who will be recognized for their character, commitment to duty, and competence in executing those duties.

Above all, we will remember our sworn oath to protect the constitutional rights of all the people while working together to keep persons free from crime and never forgetting the right to live in peace.
