Currituck County Geographic Information Systems
The primary purpose of the Geographic Information Services division is to maintain the County's Geographic Information System, a computer-assisted information system to collect, store, manipulate, and display spatial (geographic) data within the context of an organization, with the purpose of functioning as a decision support system.


Currituck County Tax Department
The Tax Department lists, assesses, and collects taxes on over 23,000 real property parcels, over 28,000 motor vehicles, and approximately 1,500 businesses and personal property listings in Currituck County. It is the Assessor’s responsibility to assure that all properties are appraised fairly and equitably.


American Planning Association
American Planning Association (APA) is a nonprofit education and membership organization. Members include practicing planners, planning students, elected and appointed officials, planning commissioners, and interested citizens.

Coastal Area Management Act (CAMA)
The Coastal Area Management Act (CAMA) legislation was passed by the North Carolina General Assembly in 1974.  This legislation established the Coastal Resources Commission (CRC) as the governing body for CAMA.  The commission designates areas of environmental concern, adopts rules and policies for coastal development within those areas, and certifies local land-use plans. The purpose of CAMA is to protect the unique natural resources of the North Carolina coastal areas.

Office of State Fire Marshal (OSFM) handles a wide variety of important tasks, from training fire and rescue personnel to administering the state building code, from securing property insurance for state-owned buildings to reviewing construction plans for state building projects. OSFM plays a vital role in protecting lives and property in North Carolina.

The Engineering and Codes Division is comprised of the following sections: Interpretations, Enforcement Service, Evaluation Services,  Home Inspectors Licensing Board and Private Plan Review. Albemarle Regional Health Services
Provides Environmental Health Services to Currituck County with water and sewage inspections, swimming pool inspections, lead investigations and on-site wastewater inspections and permits.
